Ahmedabad, Dec 17: The Academy of Pediatrics Gujarat is organising its 48th Annual State Conference – GujPedicon 2022 in Ahmedabad. This three day mega interactive and informative conference for over 550 paediatricians of Gujarat is being held during Friday and Sunday.
Leading paediatrician of Gujarat Dr Chetan Trivedi is the organising chairperson of the event informed that the theme of the conference was “Care, Consern and Cure”. Dr Trivedi explained that “in a post-Covid scenario the newborns, children, adolescents, and parents are experiencing a surge in healthcare issues”. He emphasised that “there was a dire need to update and upgrade the existing knowledge and improve the systems of care to meet the demand and provide the best care to the children”.
Dr Trivedi while providing further inforamtion about the three day event for the paediatricians said “there are going to be workshops which will discuss and impart knowledge about Kangaroo mother care concept, advanced life support systems for the newborns, antibiotics prescription and infections in children”.
Various seminars during the Conference would highlight medical problems and solutions without turning to self-medication. More than 500 paediatricians from Gujarat and elsewhere will attend this seminar. Manoj Aggarwal, Additional Principal Secretary for Gujarat Health and Family Welfare is the chief guest, and Dr. Upendra Kinjawadekar, President of CIAP 2023 is the guest of honour on the occasion. Both GujPedicon organising chair Dr. Chetan Trivedi and UNICEF Gujarat head Prashantha Das will be there.
Workshops are designed for the paediatricians and nursing staff to improve outcome of illnesses in newborns and children. There is thrust on various topics that are concerned with the issues of children. Additionally, the health department representatives from Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, the Gujarati government, and UNICEF will coordinate the sessions.
