IIMA Welcomes 460 Students to its PGP and PGP-FABM Programmes for the Academic Year 2025-27

Diverse cohort, high female participation, and emphasis on peer learning mark the new academic session

Ahmedabad, June 18 :The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) has welcomed a fresh batch of 460 students into its flagship postgraduate programmes — the 62nd batch of the Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) and the 26th batch of the Post Graduate Programme in Food and Agribusiness Management (PGP-FABM).

While 414 students have joined the PGP course, 46 students enrolled in the PGP-FABM. The new academic session began with an inaugural event on campus, attended by the institute’s leadership, faculty, and staff.

The institute continues its commitment to inclusive education with several differently abled students joining the PGP batch. The Equal Opportunity Office (EOO) at IIMA ensures accessibility through assistive technology and customized support.

Leadership Speaks: Encouraging Excellence and Peer Learning

Professor Bharat Bhasker, Director, IIMA, addressed the incoming batch stating, “You are stepping into a legacy of producing leaders. IIMA is not only known for its alumni but also the transformative learning process it offers.”

He stressed the value of cooperation over competition, urging students to learn from their peers from diverse academic and professional backgrounds.

Professor Diptesh Ghosh, Dean (Programmes), welcomed students by highlighting the prestige of the programmes,

“You are part of the top-ranked programmes in the country. Management is an applied discipline, and our classroom methods are designed to simulate real-world scenarios.”

Professor Ankur Sinha, Chairperson, PGP, emphasized integrity and interpersonal values, encouraging students to remain respectful, inclusive, and engaged.

Professor Ranjan Kumar Ghosh, Chairperson, PGP-FABM, called on students to seize the opportunity to create lasting impact in the rapidly evolving food and agri-business sector.

Key faculty and administrative leaders, including Prof. Karthik Sriram (Admissions), Prof. Viswanath Pingali (Placement), Prof. Balagopal Gopalakrishnan (Student Housing), and Prof. Rajat Sharma (Sports), addressed the students on various aspects of campus life.

Student representative Tanya Ahuja, General Secretary, Students’ Affairs Council (SAC), welcomed the batch and encouraged active participation in extracurricular and student-led initiatives.
