GT Family Grows in India: Mercedes-Benz Debuts High-Octane Sportscars with Racing DNA and Signature Engineering
BILKULONLINE
Mumbai, June 27: Mercedes-Benz India has expanded its performance lineup with the launch of two high-octane models from its GT family: the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 4MATIC+ Coupé and the track-focused GT 63 PRO 4MATIC+ Coupé. Representing the pinnacle of AMG’s Formula 1-inspired engineering, both models combine cutting-edge performance technology with enhanced daily usability, aimed at meeting the evolving demands of Indian sportscar enthusiasts.
F1-Derived Performance with Dual Personalities
The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 4MATIC+ features a handcrafted 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine producing 430 kW (585 hp) and 800 Nm of torque, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds, with a top speed of 315 km/h. This model is engineered for drivers seeking a blend of exhilarating performance and refined luxury for road and occasional track use.
Meanwhile, the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 PRO 4MATIC+ takes track performance a notch higher. With 450 kW (612 hp) and 850 Nm of torque, this version sprints to 100 km/h in just 3.1 seconds and reaches a top speed of 317 km/h. Enhanced with additional air deflectors, advanced cooling systems, and aerodynamic refinements, the GT 63 PRO is the most track-focused AMG GT variant offered in India to date.
Advanced Suspension and Aerodynamics
Both models feature the innovative AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL suspension system with active hydraulic elements that replace conventional anti-roll bars, ensuring maximum stability and comfort. Active aerodynamics—including the AIRPANEL system and a five-position rear spoiler—optimize airflow based on driving conditions. The PRO variant also benefits from additional carbon-fibre elements and underbody fins inspired by the Mercedes-AMG ONE hypercar, reducing lift and enhancing downforce significantly.
Track-Ready Components and Safety Features
The GT 63 PRO 4MATIC+ boasts upgraded cooling systems, ceramic high-performance brakes, and exclusive 21-inch forged wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 5S or optional Cup 2R tyres. Active rear-axle steering is standard on both variants, enhancing agility and stability across driving conditions.
The cabin is equipped with MBUX infotainment featuring AMG-exclusive content, including AMG TRACK PACE for lap data and telemetry. The new AMG GT Coupé also offers improved practicality with room for rear passengers up to 1.5 metres tall.
Signature AMG Craftsmanship
True to AMG’s “One Man, One Engine” philosophy, each V8 engine is hand-assembled at the Mercedes-AMG facility in Affalterbach, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern Industry 4.0 practices. The GT 63 PRO’s performance edge is achieved through higher boost pressure, improved airflow, and specially tuned engine software.
Connectivity and Personalisation
With Mercedes me connect services, drivers gain access to live traffic updates, Car-to-X communication, and seamless smartphone integration. Optional extras include a head-up display and 64-colour ambient lighting to personalise the driving experience.
