H&H Aluminium Launches India’s Largest Aluminium Solar Frame Plant in Rajkot to Boost Renewable Energy Goals

Ahmedabad, July 04: Gujarat-based H&H Aluminium Pvt Ltd has launched India’s largest and most advanced aluminium solar frame manufacturing plant at Chibhda village in Rajkot. With a production capacity of 24,000 metric tons per annum, the new facility can support up to 6 Gigawatts (GW) of solar power installations across India.

The state-of-the-art 28,000 sq. meter plant was inaugurated on July 4, 2025, by the Union Minister of Jal Shakti, C. R. Patil, in the presence of senior government officials, H&H Aluminium’s leadership team, and invited dignitaries.

The company has invested approximately ₹150 crore in the facility, which began trial production in June 2025. Commercial operations are expected to start within a month. Once fully operational, the plant aims to generate annual sales of ₹700–750 crore and create over 300 jobs.

Uttam Patel, Director of H&H Aluminium Pvt Ltd, said, “This is India’s largest and most advanced aluminium frame plant for solar panels at a single location, built in just about a year. We are grateful to the state government and departments for their support. Currently, India imports 90–95% of its aluminium solar panel frames. With this facility, we are taking a major step toward self-reliance and supporting the Make in India mission.”

In a significant policy move, the Government of India imposed a five-year anti-dumping duty on September 29, 2024, on imports of anodized aluminium frames for solar modules originating from or exported by China PR. This duty, ranging from $403 to $577 per MT (around 14%), aims to protect domestic manufacturers.

Vijay Kaneria, Director at H&H Aluminium Pvt Ltd, highlighted the growth potential, stating, “India reached a landmark 100 GW solar power capacity in 2025. With the government targeting 500 GW of renewable energy by 2030—280 GW of which is expected from solar—there is a significant growth opportunity in the sector.”

H&H Aluminium’s Rajkot plant incorporates SCADA and IoT-enabled production systems for real-time monitoring and quality control. It also features an in-house R&D facility, a comprehensive quality lab, and a zero-liquid discharge anodizing setup. The company’s aluminium frames comply with ASTM and IEC standards and are RoHS and REACH certified, ensuring strength, weather resistance, and environmental sustainability.
