RRU Fire and Safety Courses Receive Gujarat Govt Approval; Partners with UP for Officer Training

Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) achieved a major milestone as the Government of Gujarat officially validated its fire and safety courses offered through the School of Private, Industrial, and Corporate Security Management (SPICSM).
This endorsement qualifies graduates of the university’s Firefighter Certificate Course (FCC), Women’s Firefighter Certificate Course (FCCW), and Sub Fire Officer’s Course (SFO) for government recruitment in the state’s fire and emergency services.
More than 100 students have completed these residential training programs over the last three years, and are now eligible for roles as firemen and sub-fire officers. The validation ensures that qualified professionals will now strengthen Gujarat’s public safety and emergency response infrastructure.
Since December 2024, SPICSM has also overseen the recruitment process for over 5,000 candidates in coordination with the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and Model Nagarpalika, reinforcing RRU’s role in supplying skilled manpower for public safety roles.
Director of SPICSM, Nimesh Dave, welcomed the approval, calling it a testament to the university’s rigorous academic standards and commitment to high-quality, job-oriented training. “This validation not only enhances the employability of our students but also boosts Gujarat’s emergency preparedness with a steady pipeline of trained professionals,” he said.
In a parallel development, RRU has entered into a strategic partnership with the Uttar Pradesh Fire and Emergency Services. Under the agreement, RRU will train newly recruited fire and safety officials in alignment with UP’s protocols, covering a wide array of critical topics including industrial safety, fire prevention, hazardous materials handling, and emergency medical response.
The initial phase of this collaboration will see the training of 600 officers, with a broader goal to equip around 200,000 personnel in the long term. The initiative is aimed at creating new employment opportunities and enhancing Uttar Pradesh’s disaster management capabilities.
“These developments reflect our commitment to national safety and workforce development,” said Dave. “With validation from Gujarat and collaboration with Uttar Pradesh, RRU continues to play a pivotal role in shaping India’s safety and emergency response framework.”
