Gujarat Technological University – School of Engineering and Technology (GTU-SET), in association with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, successfully conducted a workshop on “Virtual Labs” to promote ICT-enabled engineering education. Organized under the Ministry of Education’s National Mission on Education through ICT (NMEICT) and supported by ISTE, the event was held at Aryabhatt Hall on the GTU-SET campus.
Coordinated by Dr. Dipak Dabhi, Assistant Professor at GTU-SET, the workshop highlighted the institute’s role as a recognized Nodal Center for Virtual Labs and its ongoing efforts to enhance practical learning through digital innovation. The technical sessions were led by Shivam Yadav, Senior Engineer, and Jassi Prasad, Senior Trainer from IIT Delhi, who provided insightful presentations and live demonstrations on the design, deployment, and educational benefits of Virtual Labs.
A total of 81 students from the Computer Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering departments, along with faculty members, actively participated in the workshop. The immersive sessions offered participants the opportunity to explore Virtual Labs—a platform that allows students to perform real-time experiments remotely using advanced simulation tools.
The workshop concluded with an engaging Q&A segment, where attendees expressed appreciation for the initiative and shared positive feedback on the platform’s role in enhancing conceptual understanding and hands-on learning. GTU-SET conveyed its sincere thanks to the IIT Delhi team for their expert contributions and reaffirmed its commitment to fostering technology-integrated education through future collaborations.
