Jakson Green Limited, a key player in India’s renewable energy landscape, has made its debut in the wind energy sector with the signing of its first Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL). Through its wholly owned subsidiary, JGRJ Three Solar Private Limited, the company will develop a 100 MW grid-connected wind power project in Gujarat.

Under GUVNL’s Wind Tender (Phase VIII), the 25-year PPA has been signed at a tariff of ₹3.59 per unit. Once operational, the project is expected to generate over 300 million units of clean energy annually, contributing to the offset of nearly 250,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions every year. The wind energy generated will directly support Gujarat’s growing electricity demand through sustainable sources.

“Our first wind power PPA with GUVNL marks a significant milestone as Jakson Green steps into utility-scale wind energy,” said Kannan Krishnan, Managing Director, Jakson Green. “This development is a natural extension of our efforts in solar and hybrid energy, and reflects our larger commitment to India’s green energy transition.”

Krishnan Rajagopalan, Head – IPP at Jakson Green, added, “India’s wind energy potential exceeds 695 GW, and Gujarat stands out as a key contributor. With this project, Jakson Green reaffirms its vision to harness clean energy and emerge as a major force in the renewable energy space.”

Expected to be commissioned within the next 24 months, the wind project will encompass end-to-end execution—covering land identification, infrastructure development, installation, approvals, and connectivity to the State Transmission Utility (STU) network to enable smooth power evacuation by GUVNL.

This project strengthens Jakson Green’s renewable energy footprint and aligns with its mission to drive clean energy adoption across India.

Headquartered in Noida, India, Jakson Green is a green energy transition platform backed by the Jakson Group. It offers engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) and operations & maintenance (O&M) services for renewable and green molecule projects across India and abroad.

Since its inception in 2022, Jakson Green has also entered the Independent Power Producer (IPP) space, with expansions planned in compressed bio-gas and green hydrogen for mobility solutions. Its subsidiary, Jakson Green Infinity Private Limited, is also building large-scale electrolyser manufacturing capacity.
