Empowering the Future CS: ICSI Launches Landmark Educational Programs

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) marked the 52nd Foundation Day of its Ahmedabad Chapter with a grand celebration held at the Senate Hall, Gujarat University.
The event witnessed participation from over 600 professionals and students, and was graced by key dignitaries including CS Dhananjay Shukla, President, ICSI; CS Pawan Chandak, Vice President, ICSI; and Yamal Vyas, Chairman of the 4th Gujarat State Finance Commission.
Speaking on the occasion, CS Dhananjay Shukla emphasized, “ICSI is evolving with the times — not only through path-breaking educational initiatives but also by extending its footprint globally to ensure that Indian professionals remain ahead of the curve in corporate governance.”
International Presence Strengthened: 4th International Conference in Australia
- In a major step toward global engagement, ICSI announced its upcoming 4th International Conference to be held from September 3–5, 2025, in Sydney, Australia. Themed “Embracing Innovation, Enhancing Good Governance,” the conference aims to provide professionals with opportunities for learning, international networking, resource sharing, and interaction with global thought leaders and investors.
- “This conference marks ICSI’s commitment to fostering global standards of governance and innovation,” added CS Shukla.
National Sustainability Conference Held in Udaipur
- The ICSI successfully organized the National Sustainability Conference 2025 in Udaipur, Rajasthan on July 26–27, under the theme “Fostering Sustainability Towards a Resilient Future.”
- Dr. Prem Chand Bairwa, Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan, was the Chief Guest, while Prof. (Dr.) Gourav Vallabh, Member of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister, addressed the gathering as the Special Guest.
New Education and Capacity-Building Programs Announced
- ICSI introduced several pioneering academic initiatives:
- Capacity Building Series – A knowledge upgradation drive for members and students.
- Certificate Course: Professional Reboot for Women – A tailored program for women CS professionals returning after a career break.
- 2-Year MBA in Maritime Regulations & Compliance – Launched in collaboration with Gujarat Maritime University.
- Joint Certificate in Corporate and Securities Markets Compliance (CSMC) – A one-year residential program with NISM, featuring internships and industry-driven content.
- Certificate Course on UAE Business Manager – Designed to equip professionals with legal and commercial skills relevant to the UAE market.
Empowering Members and Students
- ICSI continues to focus on access and empowerment:
- Direct registration into the CS Executive Programme for graduates/postgraduates.
- Online doubt-clearing classes for Executive and Professional Programme students.
- Launch of the ICSI Guiding Principles on Stewardship (IGPS) to promote ESG-aligned investment practices.
- Governance and Compliance Standard on PoSH to standardize internal committee processes and foster inclusive workplaces.
Strategic Initiatives and Knowledge Infrastructure
- ICSI International ADR Centre – Promotes speedy dispute resolution.
- Start-up and MSME Catalyst – Supports CS professionals in mentoring and compliance for SMEs and start-ups.
- ICSI Institute of Social Auditors (ICSI-ISA) – Focuses on developing social audit standards and registering social auditors in collaboration with NISM.
- Registered Valuer’s Toolkit – A comprehensive guide for valuation professionals.
Global Outreach and Academic Collaborations
- With Overseas Centres in Australia, Canada, Singapore, UAE, UK, and USA, ICSI is broadening its international impact. Its MoU with SEPC will open doors to global markets, research collaborations, and customized training programs.
- Further, Academic Connect initiatives with IIMs, IITs, National Law Universities, and Olympiad tie-ups aim to foster academic excellence from school level to professional training.
Social Initiatives and Inclusive Education
- ICSI is committed to social equity through:
- Fee Waivers for armed forces families, Agniveers, students from J&K, Ladakh, and economically weaker sections.
- Fee Concessions for SC/ST, differently abled, and students from remote areas.
- Education loans in partnership with Canara Bank for aspiring CS students.

- ICSI’s role is widely recognized under various national regulations, including:
- Companies Act, 2013
- SEBI (LODR) Regulations, 2015
- IRDA, PNGRB, IFSCA Regulations, among others
