From Box Office Hit to Web Series Milestone

JoJo App, dedicated to redefining regional entertainment, is reviving one of Gujarat’s most loved sports dramas — MEDAL. Originally released in cinemas on 25 November 2022 to widespread acclaim, the story now returns in a new format as Gujarat’s first-ever long-format Gujarati web series, streaming exclusively on JoJo App.

A Story Rooted in Rural Dreams

MEDAL follows Ajit, a passionate English teacher who turns down a prestigious private school job to teach in a rural government school. Facing societal bias and scarce resources, he trains his students for the Khel Kala Mahakumbh — a journey that transforms from chasing a medal to reclaiming dignity, hope, and self-belief.

Ensemble Cast Returns with Greater Depth

Featuring Jayesh More, Kinjal Rajpriya, Hemang Dave, Chetan Daiya, and Maulik Nayak, the web series builds on the film’s emotional core, offering richer character arcs and deeper connections for audiences.

Actors Relish the Expanded Storytelling

Jayesh More shared, “Ajit is not just a character; he’s a reflection of every teacher who chooses impact over comfort. This series format gave me the chance to explore his journey with more depth.”

Kinjal Rajpriya added, “Anjali’s role is one of quiet strength, and the series allowed us to capture more of the small but powerful moments behind big dreams.”

JoJo App’s Vision for Regional Storytelling

Dhruvin Shah, Founder and CEO of JoJo App, said, “MEDAL perfectly reflects our commitment to impactful, culturally rich storytelling. By reimagining it as Gujarat’s first long-format series, we aim to set new benchmarks for regional content.”

A Story that Only Gets Stronger with Time

With its blend of sportsmanship, rural grit, and emotional resonance, MEDAL is set to inspire a new wave of audiences, proving that some stories shine even brighter when told again.
