The Navratri Social Launched: Ahmedabad Gets Ready for Nine Nights of Dance & Devotion

As the countdown to Navratri begins, Ahmedabad is already glowing with festive anticipation. Adding to the excitement, the city has witnessed the launch of The Navratri Social – a unique digital and social community created exclusively for Garba lovers. Designed to bring together enthusiasts from across the city, the platform promises to make this Navratri more memorable, informative, and vibrant than ever before.

To mark its debut, The Navratri Social hosts a special Garba Workshop that catered to every age group—from kids and youngsters to senior citizens. Participants are keen to  learn basic and advanced Garba steps,, techniques, fusion variations, posture and energy tips, stage presence, and team coordination.

“Garba is not just a dance, it is our cultural pride. Navratri is the soul of Gujarat’s festivals,” said Sejal Gohil, Founder of The Navratri Social. “Through The Navratri Social, we aim to connect Garba lovers of Ahmedabad with each other while giving them the best guidance, information, and experiences to make their Navratri truly unforgettable” she added.

The platform will serve as a one-stop resource, offering detailed insights into the city’s most energetic Garba events, trending Chaniya Choli fashions, festive food recommendations, makeup and beauty tips, as well as updates on popular singers’ live performances. It will also guide users on safety, parking, ticketing, and event schedules—ensuring a smooth celebration for all.

Adding his perspective Jay another member of the Gohil family and co-organiser, remarked: “Our team wants this platform to reflect the very spirit of Navratri. From live updates at venues to showcasing creative décor themes, we are committed to making every night special for Garba enthusiasts.”

Well-known Garba dance trainer Tanish Shah, who will be conducting workshops along with other expert trainers, shared his excitement: “This initiative is a wonderful opportunity not only for seasoned Garba enthusiasts but also for beginners. We are already seeing tremendous interest from non-Gujarati participants who are eager to learn and be a part of this cultural celebration. That truly shows how Garba has become a universal language of joy and togetherness. We are focussing the authentic and original form of Garba ‘Taali Garba’ at our workshops.

Ahmedabad’s Navratri spirit gets a new spark with The Navratri Social, a digital hub for Garba lovers. Team member Harshil Patel said, “With more than 60 influencers joining hands, we are making Garba fashion, food, music and dance accessible to everyone. This season, our free platform will help enthusiasts celebrate Navratri with more joy and glamour than ever before.”

With Navratri just weeks away, Ahmedabad is already turning into a carnival of sights, sounds, and colors. The city’s bustling markets—Law Garden, Ratanpole, and Dhalgarwad—are overflowing with shoppers picking up mirror-work Chaniya Cholis, embroidered kediyus, sparkling jewellery, and matching dupattas. Designers are unveiling fresh collections in vibrant hues, while local artisans showcase handcrafted accessories that add to the festive charm.

Food vendors are also gearing up, with stalls preparing delicacies like fafda-jalebi, khichu, handvo, and a variety of street snacks that become irresistible to Garba-goers after late-night revelries. Popular eateries are extending their hours to serve throngs of families, youngsters, and out-of-town visitors flocking to the city for the nine-night celebration.

Meanwhile, Garba grounds across Ahmedabad are undergoing grand transformations—massive stages being set up, colorful lights being strung across open-air venues, and themes range from traditional temple décor to contemporary LED artistry being put in place. As the dhol beats echo across neighbourhoods, rehearsals are already in full swing, with groups practising their moves late into the evening.

“Navratri in Ahmedabad is unlike anywhere else. The energy, the rhythm, and the devotion create an atmosphere that is both spiritual and joyous,” said a city-based Garba enthusiast at the workshop. “A platform like this will help us make the most of the celebrations.”

With lakhs of revellers expected to gather each night, The Navratri Social is poised to act as the ultimate festive companion—merging digital convenience with cultural celebration to ensure that this Navratri in Ahmedabad will be one to remember.
