Gujarat Technological University (GTU) organized the Bharat Tirth Lecture at its Chandkheda campus, focusing on the theme “Integration of Indian Knowledge System in Technical Education.” The event, held under Dharohar – Bharatiye Gyan Parampara Kendra, witnessed active participation from faculty, staff, and students.
The keynote address was delivered by Atul Kothari, National Secretary of Shiksha Sanskriti Uthan Nyas, who spoke on integrating Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) into modern technical education. He highlighted the vision of NEP 2020, ancient India’s contributions to science and technology, curriculum integration of IKS, and the importance of value-based education, research, and innovation. He emphasized how traditional wisdom in mathematics, metallurgy, medicine, architecture, and sustainable practices can inspire new approaches in today’s academic and industrial landscape.
GTU Vice-Chancellor Dr. Rajul K. Gajjar reiterated the university’s commitment to promoting IKS through academic programs, research, and capacity building, ensuring students remain not only industry-ready but also culturally rooted and socially responsible.
The session was also attended by Dr. K.N. Kher, Registrar of GTU, along with senior faculty members. The lecture received an enthusiastic response, reflecting GTU’s vision of blending value-based education with technological advancement.
