Gandhinagar: Tata Asset Management has opened a branch at the International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) in Gujarat’s GIFT City, marking a significant step in extending fund management services to global investors. The firm will now provide international and NRI investors with structured access to India’s dynamic equity markets.
Launch of Tata India Dynamic Equity Fund
Alongside its entry into GIFT City, the company has received approval to launch the Tata India Dynamic Equity Fund – GIFT IFSC, a retail-focused inbound feeder fund. With a minimum investment ticket size of just USD 500, the fund seeks to democratize global access to Indian equities. It will invest across mutual fund equity schemes and exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
Strategy and Themes
The fund adopts an active allocation model, dynamically adjusting exposure to large, mid, and small-cap segments while capturing opportunities in emerging sectors such as technology, energy, and healthcare. Abhinav Sharma, Head – International Business, noted that allocations will range from 50–100% in broad-based funds and 0–50% in sectoral/thematic plays depending on market conditions.
Investor Benefits and Tax Efficiency
One of the fund’s key highlights is its complete exemption from Indian taxes on income earned, with investors taxed only under their country of residence laws. This makes it a tax-efficient entry point for NRIs, Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), and foreign investors from jurisdictions compliant with FATF standards.
Leadership Speaks
Prathit Bhobe, CEO & MD of Tata Asset Management, said, “India is at the cusp of a multi-decade growth cycle. With our entry into IFSC, Tata AMC is well-placed to connect international and NRI investors with India’s vibrant capital markets through innovative and accessible products.”
Tata Asset Management was founded in 1994, Tata Asset Management is one of India’s oldest mutual fund managers with over 63 lakh investor folios (as of August 31, 2025).
