Team Reactions

Sharing their joy, producers Krunal Soni, Kalpesh Soni, Nilay Chotai, and Dipen Patel said:

“This is an immensely proud moment for us. While making Vash, we never imagined the film would receive such high national recognition. This honor is the result of our team’s hard work and the love of our audiences. It inspires us to create even stronger stories. Gujarati cinema is moving in a new direction, and being part of this journey is truly a privilege.”

Director Krishnadev Yagnik added, “It is a matter of pride that we could authentically present a genre like psychological horror in Gujarati cinema. This recognition proves that when the content is strong, language or regional boundaries are no barrier. I dedicate this award to my team and our audiences.”

Actress Janki Bodiwala expressed her gratitude, “There can be no greater joy than receiving this honor from the President of India. I am deeply thankful to the entire Vash team, and especially to Krishnadev Sir for trusting me with this role. This award is a milestone in my acting journey.”

The Film was written and directed by Krishnadev Yagnik, Vash is a gripping psychological horror thriller exploring themes of black magic, manipulation, and control. The story revolves around Hiten Kumar’s character, who uses hypnosis to dominate Arya (played by Janki Bodiwala), creating an atmosphere of fear and suspense. The film also stars Hitu Kanodia in a pivotal role.

Critical Acclaim

Released in 2023, Vash was praised by audiences and critics alike for its chilling narrative, haunting screenplay, innovative cinematography, and standout performances. Janki Bodiwala’s portrayal of Arya—capturing fear, conflict, and psychological trauma—earned her widespread acclaim and ultimately a National Award.

A Milestone for Gujarati Cinema

The recognition of Vash marks a proud moment not only for its creators but for the Gujarati film industry as a whole. By successfully venturing into the relatively rare genre of psychological horror in regional cinema, Vash has set a new benchmark in storytelling and raised the bar for Gujarati filmmakers.
