  • The Ahmedabad Medical Association (AMA), one of India’s oldest and largest medical associations, has officially installed its new leadership team for the 2025-2026 term at a grand ceremony on September 28, 2025. Founded in 1902, the AMA represents over 12,500 doctors across the region, continuing its legacy as a pillar of healthcare excellence.The new leadership team is spearheaded by Dr. Jignesh C. Shah, who takes on the role of President, and Dr. Maulik S. Sheth, the newly appointed Honorary Secretary. The installation ceremony was graced by several prominent figures in the medical community, including:Chief Guest: Dr. Sandip ShahGuest of Honor: Dr. Bharat DaveDistinguished Guest: Dr. Anil Nayak

    Installation Officer: Dr. Bipin Patel

    This year’s theme, “Beyond Scalpel and Stethoscope,” emphasizes the association’s commitment to expanding its scope beyond clinical care. AMA aims to focus on education, social service, professional empowerment, and fostering stronger community ties.

  • Key Initiatives for 2025-26:Public Health Awareness: Launching initiatives to promote organ donation, CPR training, and preventive health camps.Digital Growth: Introduction of the AMA Mobile App to facilitate member communication, event registrations, and information sharing.Scientific Excellence: Hosting prestigious medical conferences such as NATCON 2025 and AMACON 2026, in addition to Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs and hands-on workshops.Professional Empowerment: Introducing programs to improve financial literacy, provide mentorship for young doctors, and develop leadership skills within the medical community.

    Fraternity & Wellness: Organizing cultural celebrations, sports events, and family-oriented activities to promote well-being among members.

    Dr. Jignesh Shah, President, shared his vision: “With AMA’s rich legacy, we aim to rebuild trust in the doctor-patient relationship, empower our fraternity, and serve society with compassion and integrity.”

    Dr. Maulik Sheth, Honorary Secretary, emphasized unity and innovation: “This year, our focus will be on strengthening the bond between our medical community and society through collaborative efforts in service, education, and social responsibility.”

    The AMA has also announced the full list of office bearers and managing committee members for the 2025-2026 term, comprising experienced medical professionals who will help carry forward the mission of the association.
