Renowned powerlifting and weightlifting champion  Rajnikant Parmar from Ahmedabad has once again become a beacon of inspiration for India’s aspiring athletes. Sharing his remarkable journey and life lessons, Parmar emphasized the values of discipline, perseverance, and passion that have fuelled his rise from humble beginnings to international acclaim.

A self-made athlete, Parmar began his fitness journey during his school years, initially aspiring to join the police or military. What started as a fitness pursuit soon transformed into an enduring passion for bodybuilding and strength sports. “Managing diet, rest, and training without expert guidance was a challenge, but my love for the sport kept me going,” he reflected.

His early training at Ambubhai Purani Vayam Shala laid the foundation for his discipline, while global mentors like Sibi Petois and Dennis James helped him attain world-class standards. Among his proudest achievements, Parmar highlighted organizing the Mr. India championship in Ahmedabad, bringing international athletes to India at his own expense — a move that marked a new era for the city’s fitness community.

Drawing inspiration from his childhood idol Arnold Schwarzenegger, Parmar continues to lead by example with an unwavering focus and a demanding regimen of eight to nine meals a day. His message to young athletes is clear and heartfelt:

“Stay away from drugs and bad habits. Eat well, sleep well, and remain consistent. Government gyms and traditional akhadas offer great training grounds — discipline and dedication can take you anywhere.”

Inspired by the legendary Arnold Schwarzenegger, whose poster first ignited his dream, Rajtikant Parmar has become a beacon of motivation for aspiring athletes across Gujarat and India. His journey from a determined schoolboy to a celebrated powerlifting and weightlifting champion stands as a testament to discipline and passion.

Parmar not only continues to compete and excel but also conducts motivational workshops and training sessions, sharing his experience and fitness philosophy with the next generation. Through his initiatives — including organizing major events like Mr. India in Ahmedabad — he aims to elevate the standard of strength sports in India, empowering youth to embrace fitness, perseverance, and a drug-free lifestyle.

Parmar also expressed gratitude to the Shakti Dooth Yojna for supporting athletes like him in their pursuit of excellence. His journey stands as a powerful reminder that with determination and focus, Indian athletes can rise to global prominence.
