Ahmedabad, December 02, 2025: Sterling Hospitals, one of Gujarat’s foremost multi-specialty healthcare providers, has unveiled its Emergency Response (ER) Ambulance Service, offering free-of-charge emergency transport for all residents of Ahmedabad. Citizens can dial 99132 99132 for immediate medical assistance and be transported to any hospital in the city.

The newly launched fleet is equipped with advanced life-saving technology and supported by a 24×7 command centre. Each ambulance is monitored live, and vital patient data is transmitted in real time to the receiving hospital, ensuring faster clinical decision-making and uninterrupted continuity of care.

The flag-off ceremony was graced by Jatinkumar Patel, Deputy Mayor of Ahmedabad, and Bhavna Patel, DCP Traffic, Ahmedabad, who lauded Sterling Hospitals for strengthening the city’s emergency response ecosystem. Their presence amplified the importance of coordinated public–private efforts in improving emergency accessibility and traffic readiness during critical situations.

Speaking at the event, Santosh Marathe, MD & CEO, Sterling Hospitals, said, “We are happy to launch our Emergency Response Ambulance services in Ahmedabad. With expertly trained paramedics, tech-enabled systems, and a prompt response mechanism, we aim to significantly enhance emergency and trauma care across the city.”

Highlighting the critical role of emergency departments, Dhaiwat M. Rao, Head of Department, Emergency Medicine, emphasized the need for rapid and skilled handling of patients arriving in traumatic or life-threatening conditions. He noted that timely stabilization often becomes the decisive factor in saving lives.

Delivering the keynote address, Padma Shri Dr. Sudhir V. Shah, Director, Department of Neurosciences, underscored the life-saving importance of reaching medical facilities within the golden hour. He applauded Sterling Hospitals for launching the ER ambulance service on humanitarian grounds and called for greater public awareness.

“Reaching the hospital within the golden hour can make the difference between life, recovery, and irreversible harm,” said Dr. Shah. “Sterling Hospitals’ initiative is commendable, but we also need stronger public consciousness—people must give way to ambulances, and we need better awareness and supportive government regulations to ensure smoother emergency movement across our roads.”

Adding to the commitment,  Raman Bhaskar, Zonal Director, Sterling Hospitals–Ahmedabad, said, “The ER ambulance service reflects our mission to redefine healthcare through advanced emergency support and a compassionate, patient-first approach. As an Amdavadi, I believe this city deserves the best possible response system, and Sterling Hospitals remains devoted to that promise.”

With this initiative, Sterling Hospitals aims to elevate emergency preparedness in Ahmedabad, ensuring timely intervention, coordinated care, and improved patient outcomes across the city.
