Qatar Museums and the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) have entered into a landmark five-year strategic partnership to develop Museum-in-Residence education initiatives across India and Qatar, strengthening cross-cultural learning for children and educators.
The agreement was signed by Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Chairperson of Qatar Museums, and Isha Ambani, Director of Reliance Industries Limited, at the National Museum of Qatar in Doha.
The collaboration will bring Qatar Museums’ innovative, play-based learning models to schools and cultural spaces in India through NMACC, while also enabling the co-creation of new educational programmes in both countries. Designed primarily for early childhood learners, the initiatives will also equip teachers, volunteers, and educators with creative tools, materials, and methodologies to inspire classroom innovation.
In India, NMACC will work closely with Reliance Foundation to roll out the programmes nationwide, guided by specialists from Qatar Museums, including experts from the Dadu, Children’s Museum of Qatar. These experts will conduct masterclasses and hands-on mentoring, adapting content to diverse educational and cultural contexts, including rural and underserved communities.
A key component of the partnership is Dadu’s Museum-in-Residence programme, featuring the Light Atelier, an immersive learning environment for children aged three to seven that encourages exploration and creativity through play.
Leaders from both institutions emphasised their shared belief that culture and education are essential foundations for nurturing confident, empathetic, and imaginative young learners. Beyond formal schooling, the programmes will be implemented in schools, anganwadis, and community centres across India.
The partnership reflects Qatar Museums’ global commitment to education and cultural exchange, aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030, and reinforces NMACC’s mission to bring global best practices to India while sharing India’s cultural richness with the world.
