RRU’s BCORE Advances India’s Olympic Vision with Global Events and Research Leadership

Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), an institution of national importance under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, hosted a media interaction at Karnavati Club, Ahmedabad, announcing major initiatives through its Bharat Centre of Olympic Research and Education to advance Olympism, sports research and international collaboration in India. Established in June 2024, BCORE is India and South Asia’s first Olympic Studies Centre recognised by the International Olympic Committee.
“Through BCORE, we are creating a knowledge-driven sporting ecosystem that integrates research, governance and international cooperation to support India’s long-term Olympic ambitions,” said Bimal Patel, Vice-Chancellor of Rashtriya Raksha University.
World Police and Fire Games 2029: India’s Global Hosting Debut
The university announced that it will host eight disciplines of the World Police and Fire Games 2029, marking India’s debut as host of the prestigious Olympic-style event for police and fire service personnel from across the world. Supported by a dedicated secretariat, trained volunteers and advanced infrastructure including a human performance laboratory and an upcoming anti-doping facility, the Games are expected to showcase India’s organisational and sporting capabilities. “Hosting the World Police and Fire Games is a statement of India’s readiness to deliver world-class sporting events while strengthening bonds among those who serve communities globally,” Patel said.
International Olympic Research Conference 2026: Building Knowledge Leadership
BCORE also announced the 2nd International Olympic Research Conference to be held from January 27 to 30, 2026 at the Gandhinagar campus, bringing together global Olympic studies centres, national Olympic committees, administrators, researchers and policymakers. The conference will focus on building a sustainable Olympic ecosystem through education, governance and research, with a two-day anti-doping workshop in collaboration with the National Anti-Doping Agency and experts from the World Anti-Doping Agency. “This conference is designed to move beyond dialogue and create actionable research that strengthens integrity, transparency and sustainability within the Olympic Movement,” said Utsav Chaware, Director of the Bharat Centre of Olympic Research and Education.
The university further announced the BCORE Night Run 2026, scheduled for January 10 in Gandhinagar, aimed at promoting night safety, inclusivity and Olympic values by bringing together civilians, security personnel and para-athletes. “Sport has the power to unite communities, and initiatives like the Night Run demonstrate how Olympic values can translate into social cohesion and safer public spaces,” Patel added, noting that these initiatives collectively position Gujarat and India at the forefront of global sports governance and Olympic research.
