Warm & Cozy Winter Snack Recipes to Beat the Chill!

Crispy Aloo Pakoras (Potato Fritters)

Why it’s great in winter: Hot, crunchy, and comforting—perfect with tea.

Ingredients

  • 2 large potatoes (thinly sliced)

  • 1 cup gram flour (besan)

  • 1/2 tsp turmeric

  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder

  • 1/2 tsp carom seeds (ajwain)

  • Salt to taste

  • Water (to make batter)

  • Oil for deep frying

Method

  1. Mix gram flour, spices, salt, and ajwain. Add water to make a thick batter.

  2. Heat oil in a pan on medium heat.

  3. Dip potato slices in batter and gently drop into hot oil.

  4. Fry until golden and crisp.

  5. Serve hot with green chutney or ketchup.


Sweet Corn Butter Masala

Why it’s great in winter: Warm, buttery, and mildly spicy—very comforting.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups boiled sweet corn

  • 1 tbsp butter

  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder

  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

  • Salt to taste

  • Lemon juice (to taste)

  • Chopped coriander (optional)

Method

  • Heat butter in a pan and add boiled corn.

  • Add chili powder, pepper, and salt. Mix well.

  • Cook for 2–3 minutes on low heat.

  • Add lemon juice and garnish with coriander.

  • Serve hot in a bowl or cup.
