IIMA to Establish Krishnamurthy Tandon School of Artificial Intelligence with ₹100 Crore Endowment

The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish the Krishnamurthy Tandon School of Artificial Intelligence, marking a significant milestone in India’s higher education landscape.

The MoU was exchanged in the esteemed presence of Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister of Education, Government of India, in New Delhi, and Vinay Kwatra, Ambassador of India to the United States, who joined virtually from the USA.

The School is being established through a generous endowment of ₹100 crores by Ms. Chandrika Krishnamurthy Tandon, an alumna of Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad’s PGP Class of 1975, and her husband,  Ranjan Tandon. The contribution reflects their long-standing commitment to advancing education, innovation, and public good.

As a pioneering School of Artificial Intelligence housed within a management institute in India, the Krishnamurthy Tandon School of Artificial Intelligence will operate at the intersection of technology, management, and public impact. The School aims to develop leaders, researchers, and practitioners who can harness artificial intelligence to address complex business and societal challenges, while shaping ethical, inclusive, and globally relevant AI solutions.
