In a major initiative aimed at celebrating Gujarati identity and showcasing the region’s artistic and cultural excellence on a global stage, the first edition of the Global Gujarati Awards was officially launched on Monday, 9 February 2026. The prestigious event will be held at the renowned Kutch Yatra Resort in Dhorado, located at the iconic White Rann of Kutch, with a Cultural Night scheduled for 7 March and the grand Awards Night on 8 March 2026.
The awards are being organized by AR9 Holidays Pvt. Ltd., with the vision of creating a global platform dedicated to recognizing Gujarati talent across diverse creative fields. The initiative is being led under the guidance of Hetal Thakkar, Jigar Chauhan, and Vivek Thakkar, who have conceptualized the event as more than an awards ceremony—positioning it as a symbol of Gujarati pride, heritage, and international presence.
Celebrating Excellence Across 40+ Categories
The Global Gujarati Awards will honor individuals who have made outstanding contributions in fields such as art, culture, cinema, music, and digital content creation. More than 40 award categories have been announced, and winners will be selected by an independent and autonomous jury, ensuring transparency, credibility, and prestige for the awards.
Organizers Highlight Cultural Significance
Speaking at the launch, Arvind Rupaliya, Director of AR9 Holidays Pvt. Ltd. and Founder of Kutch Yatra Resort, described the initiative as a proud milestone for the region. He emphasized that Kutch, long recognized as a tourism hub, is now poised to emerge as an international centre for celebrating Gujarati art and culture.
He noted that the upcoming Cultural Night and Awards Night would not merely be entertainment events but a meaningful confluence of Gujarat’s traditions, cultural heritage, and contemporary creativity. According to organizers, the event aims to attract artists, creators, and members of the Gujarati diaspora from across the world.
Speaking about the vision behind the initiative, Hetal Thakkar, one of the key guiding members of the awards, said, “The Global Gujarati Awards have been envisioned as a bridge connecting Gujarati talent across the world. Our aim is not only to recognize excellence but also to create a global network where artists, creators, and cultural ambassadors of Gujarat can gain international visibility and recognition.
