TTEC’s Annual Wellness Walk Encourages Citizens to Give Back While Staying Healthy: Biju Pillai

Women-Led TTEC Wellness Walk Celebrates ‘Give to Gain’ Theme

The 24th Annual TTEC Wellness Walk 2026 will be held in Ahmedabad on March 8, coinciding with the 115th International Women’s Day (IWD). The annual community event, which attracts thousands of enthusiastic Amadvadis each year, aims to promote wellness while raising support for NGOs working toward meaningful social causes.

The walk will begin at 6:45 a.m. from the L.D. Engineering College Ground, which has traditionally served as the venue for the event. Previously known as the Motif–TTEC Charity Walk, the initiative has grown into one of the city’s most recognized CSR-led community events, bringing together citizens, corporates, and social organizations for a shared cause.

A Movement for Social Impact

What started as a small community activity in 2003 has evolved into a major philanthropic movement in Ahmedabad. Over the past 23 editions held until 2025, the initiative has benefited 77 NGOs and raised over ₹12.42 crore (approximately $1.95 million).

More than 1,04,355 walkers have participated in the event over the years, supported by 284 donors who have contributed to various social causes.

Funds raised through individual registrations and corporate sponsorships will directly support three selected NGOs this year: Manav Parivar Trust (Nonghanvadar), Shree Danev Foundation, and Shwas Charitable Trust. In addition, TTEC will match the total amount raised through individual registrations and distribute the equivalent contribution equally among the beneficiary NGOs, further amplifying the impact of the initiative.

Participants can register online through Townscript with a minimum registration fee of ₹300.

Encouraging Women’s Participation

Organizers expect increased participation from women this year as the event coincides with International Women’s Day, which marks 115 years of global efforts toward gender equality since its first celebration in 1911.

Speaking about the initiative, Biju Pillai, Vice-President (Operations), TTEC India, said the event reflects the company’s commitment to community engagement and social responsibility.

“It is an honour to announce the 24th Annual TTEC Wellness Walk — an initiative rooted in compassion, unity, and the belief that together we can create meaningful change. For over two decades, the collective commitment of our employees, clients, partners, and citizens has helped raise more than $1.95 million (₹12.42 crore) for 77 NGOs, transforming thousands of lives,” he said.

He added that the walk represents the organization’s values beyond business success.

“The Wellness Walk is more than an event; it reflects who we are and what we stand for. It reminds us that true success is not measured by what we achieve alone, but by the lives we uplift along the way. I invite families, friends, and the wider community to join us—walk with heart, walk with purpose, and walk for change.”

Highlighting this year’s theme, he said the initiative aligns with the spirit of International Women’s Day 2026, which is themed “Give to Gain.”

“In the same spirit, our 24th Annual Wellness Walk is proudly women-led, celebrating leadership, compassion, and collective action. It encourages citizens to give back to society while gaining the invaluable benefits of good health through walking — one of the simplest yet most effective habits for well-being,” Pillai added.

Beneficiary NGOs for 2026

The funds raised during this year’s walk will support three organizations working in diverse social sectors.

Manav Parivar Trust, Nonghanvadar (Est. 2013):

The organization supports abandoned individuals with intellectual disabilities by providing safe housing, medical care, nutritious food, and long-term rehabilitation, ensuring dignity and security for some of the most vulnerable members of society.

Shree Danev Foundation (Est. 2017):

The foundation works for the rescue, veterinary care, and rehabilitation of stray birds and animals in Ahmedabad, promoting compassionate coexistence and reducing animal suffering in urban environments.

Shwas Charitable Trust (Est. 2008):

The trust focuses on empowering children from underserved communities through academic support, nutrition awareness, and life-skills training via community learning centres, helping them progress from education to employment.

Transparent Selection Process

Organizers emphasized that the NGO selection process follows clear ethical principles. All donations are made directly in the name of the beneficiary NGOs, and no NGO is repeated in the following year. Additionally, no TTEC director serves as a trustee of any selected NGO, ensuring transparency and impartiality.
