In a heartwarming atmosphere filled with blessings, joy, and the spirit of togetherness, the 36th Mass Wedding Ceremony “Kanyadan-3” of the Saurashtra Sai Suthar community was celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm on Sunday at Uday Green Party Plot in the New Naroda area of Ahmedabad. The sacred occasion brought together families, community members, saints, and dignitaries to witness the beautiful beginning of a new chapter in the lives of seven couples, who tied the knot through traditional Vedic rituals and stepped into their journey of married life.
Inspired by the Saurashtra Sai Suthar Gnati Hitetchu Mandal, Ahmedabad, the ceremony was organized by the Saurashtra Sai Suthar Gnati Yuvak Mandal. The event was successfully carried out under the leadership and guidance of community leaders Himmatbhai Hingu, Chandubhai Gohil, Hitubhai Solanki, Kantibhai Jethwa, Nathabhai Vaghela, and other dedicated office bearers and volunteers who worked tirelessly to make the occasion memorable.
The sacred ceremony was blessed by the presence of revered spiritual leaders including Navalgiri J. Gosai (Chotila), Bhagwat Acharya Jogidada Vyas, Mahant Nishantpuri Bapu (Rajpara-Bhavnagar), and Dharm Sansad 1008 Akshaypuri Bapu (Dadva), whose blessings added spiritual grace and inspiration to the event.
The celebration was further dignified by the presence of several prominent dignitaries including Gujarat Government Cabinet Minister Kunvarjibhai Bavaliya, Rajya Sabha MP Mayankbhai Nayak, and Lok Sabha MP Hasmukhbhai Patel, who extended their heartfelt wishes and blessings to the newly married couples and appreciated the community’s initiative of organizing collective marriages.
According to the program schedule, a reception was held at 5:00 PM, followed by the sacred Hastmelap ceremony at 6:30 PM, where the couples were united in matrimony. The wedding rituals were solemnly performed by Shastri Muni Maharaj following traditional Vedic customs.
Adding color and joy to the celebration, the event featured special cultural and entertainment segments. Performances and presentations were delivered by Surat-based influencer and social worker Paru N Guru, renowned folk litterateur Ramnikbhai Dhandhliya, and popular stand-up comedian Hakabha Gadhvi, who entertained the audience and created a lively atmosphere.
Demonstrating generosity and care for the newly married couples, the organizers presented thoughtful household gifts to the brides as part of their Kariyavar (trousseau), including flour mills, washing machines, and LED televisions. The organizers also ensured that eligible families received the benefits of the Gujarat Government’s “Kunwarbai Nu Mameru” scheme free of cost.
In a progressive step promoting the value of daughters, the community also announced that a cheque of ₹11,000 will be awarded to any of these couples upon the birth of their first daughter, encouraging a positive message toward the girl child.
The grand celebration of “Kanyadan-3” not only marked the union of seven couples but also reflected the Saurashtra Sai Suthar community’s strong values of unity, compassion, tradition, and social responsibility, making the occasion a truly memorable and emotional moment for everyone present.
