SwaRaksha Mahotsav 2026, a two-day Global Summit, Exhibition and Awards platform dedicated to aerospace & defence, geospatial technologies, space, marine systems, unmanned technologies and homeland security, commenced successfully at Vigyan Bhawan in Ahmedabad on Wednesday.

Held under the theme “Fostering Partnership for Security,” the Mahotsav has brought together senior government officials, armed forces representatives, defence public sector undertakings (PSUs), global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), startups, academia, policy experts and industry leaders on a common platform to deliberate on India’s rapidly evolving defence ecosystem and technological capabilities. 

Platform for Strategic Collaboration

The event aims to strengthen collaboration between industry stakeholders, government bodies, innovators and research institutions while promoting indigenous innovation and strategic partnerships in critical sectors related to national security and advanced technologies.

SwaRaksha Mahotsav 2026 is being hosted by the Government of Gujarat through the Department of Science & Technology, Gujarat Council on Science & Technology (GUJCOST), and Gujarat Science City. It is co-hosted by the Survey of India, Government of India, and Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), Department of Space, Government of India.

The event is being organized by the Trade Promotion Council for Geospatial and Space Industry (TPCGSI), New Delhi, with support from several government organizations and institutions.

Vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat

Addressing the gathering, Sanjay Singh (Adv.), Founder & Director General of the Trade Promotion Council for Geospatial and Space Industry, highlighted the importance of creating a self-reliant and innovation-driven ecosystem in the country.

“SwaRaksha Mahotsav 2026 is envisioned as a transformative platform to strengthen India’s self-reliance in security, geospatial and space technologies while fostering collaboration between industry, government, startups, academia and innovators. Through this initiative, we aim to showcase indigenous capabilities, encourage innovation-driven partnerships, and accelerate the adoption of cutting-edge technologies that contribute to national security and economic growth,” he said.

He further added that the Mahotsav reflects India’s commitment towards building a resilient ecosystem aligned with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and positioning the country as a global leader in emerging strategic technologies.

Strengthening Industry-Government-Academia Synergy

Maj Gen Bimal Monga, Additional Director General, NCC Directorate, Gujarat, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu, also emphasized the importance of collaborative engagement between stakeholders.

“This initiative provides a valuable opportunity for users, industry, government and academia to come together and collaboratively develop solutions for the country. It is a commendable endeavour, and I am confident that we are moving in the right direction. Such interactions will help us better understand each other’s needs and challenges, enabling stronger collaboration and meaningful progress,” he remarked.

Conferences, Exhibitions and Networking Sessions

The two-day Mahotsav features a comprehensive lineup of conferences, panel discussions, exhibitions and networking sessions focusing on innovation, indigenisation, emerging technologies and strategic advancement across aerospace, defence, geospatial and homeland security sectors.

Industry experts, startups and research organizations are also showcasing advanced solutions and technologies aimed at strengthening India’s defence preparedness, surveillance systems, geospatial intelligence and space capabilities.

The event is expected to serve as an important platform for knowledge exchange, business collaboration and policy dialogue, reinforcing Gujarat’s growing role as a hub for technology-driven industrial growth and strategic innovation.
