Swarrnim University, Chhatra Sansad Unite to inspire yong minds through ‘Gujarat Rising’  Leadership Summit

In a powerful demonstration of youth leadership, innovation and civic engagement, nearly 2,000 of Gujarat’s brightest students gathered under one roof at the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium for the Gujarat Rising Chhatra Sansad Conclave, a first-of-its-kind youth movement aimed at positioning Gujarat as India’s leading state in innovation, entrepreneurship and public leadership.

Jointly organised by Swarrnim Startup & Innovation University (SSIU) and Chhatra Sansad, the conclave emerged as one of the largest youth gatherings in Gujarat, bringing together policymakers, jurists, entrepreneurs, social leaders and educators to engage directly with the next generation of changemakers.

Held under the theme “Gujarat Rising,” the day-long conclave featured keynote addresses, panel discussions and a high-energy fireside chat focused on leadership, governance, entrepreneurship, innovation and nation-building.

Among the distinguished guests were Gujarat Minister for Primary, Secondary and Adult Education Rivaba Jadeja, Gujarat State Human Rights Commission Chairperson Justice K.J. Thaker, Gujarat Information Commission Chief Information Commissioner Dr. Subhashchandra R. Soni, ICC Gujarat Chairman Pathik Patwari, MBA Chai Wala Founder Prafull Billore, Craftroots Founder Anar Patel, entrepreneur and podcaster Jay Thadeshwar, PC Snehal Group Managing Director Chiranjiv Patel, luxury hotelier Sneha Agarwal, entrepreneur Kanthil Mehta and motivational speaker Sanjay Raval.

Addressing the gathering, Education Minister Rivaba Jadeja praised the initiative for giving youth a meaningful platform to participate in public discourse.

“It is heartening to see platforms like the Gujarat Chhatra Sansad Conclave giving our youth a genuine voice in shaping policy and public life. Swarrnim Startup & Innovation University has built a wonderful environment for this kind of dialogue, and Chhatra Sansad’s work in nurturing young leadership across the state deserves every encouragement,” she said.

The conclave’s central message was clear: Gujarat’s future leadership must emerge from informed, innovative and socially conscious young citizens. Students attending the event represented institutions from across the state and were selected to participate in discussions around Gujarat’s role in India’s journey toward becoming a developed nation.

Highlighting the university’s vision, Rishabh Jain, President, Swarrnim Group, said the conclave was more than a platform for discussion.

“The youth of today will drive the policies, innovations, enterprises and social transformation of tomorrow. At Swarrnim Startup & Innovation University, we believe education must go beyond classrooms and empower students to become responsible citizens, visionary leaders and nation builders. Through initiatives like Gujarat Chhatra Sansad, we aim to nurture young minds who can contribute meaningfully to the vision of Viksit Bharat and a globally competitive Gujarat,” he said.

Aadi Jain, Vice President of SSIU, emphasized the role of youth in shaping the future.

“The future belongs to young people who are willing to think differently, lead responsibly and create solutions for society. We are committed to empowering youth to become changemakers who can contribute to Gujarat’s growth story and India’s journey towards becoming a global leader,” he said.

Justice K.J. Thaker described the conclave as an important platform for strengthening democratic values among young citizens, while Dr. Subhashchandra Soni said such initiatives play a crucial role in building an informed and engaged citizenry.

Entrepreneur Prafull Billore, whose entrepreneurial journey has inspired millions, applauded the energy and enthusiasm displayed by the students.

“Conclaves like this remind me why I believe so strongly in young people taking charge of their own future. The energy at the Gujarat Chhatra Sansad Conclave was incredible,” he remarked.

Social entrepreneur Anar Patel stressed the importance of investing in young changemakers, noting that platforms such as Chhatra Sansad help create future leaders who can drive meaningful social transformation.

Moderating a fireside chat, entrepreneur and investor Jay Thadeshwar observed that the depth and maturity of conversations among students reflected the strength of the platform built by Swarrnim and Chhatra Sansad.

For Adv. Kunal Sharma, Founder and President of Chhatra Sansad, the conclave represented a significant milestone in a movement that began in Vadodara in 2015.

“Watching nearly 2,000 students fill this auditorium is proof of how far this movement has come. Chhatra Sansad and Swarrnim share the same belief—that Gujarat’s youth deserve a real seat at the table—and the Gujarat Rising Chhatra Sansad Conclave is proof of what that partnership can achieve,” he said.

Since its inception, Chhatra Sansad has expanded across 20 states, working to create ethical, competent and spirited public leadership while encouraging greater youth participation in democratic processes.

Swarrnim Startup & Innovation University, India’s first university dedicated to startups and entrepreneurship, has built a reputation for fostering innovation through experiential learning, research, incubation and industry partnerships. The university offers programmes across engineering, architecture, design, management, science, agriculture and healthcare disciplines, with entrepreneurship embedded at the core of its academic philosophy.

As the conclave concluded, the message resonated throughout the packed auditorium: Gujarat’s next chapter will not be written solely by policymakers and industry leaders, but by thousands of young dreamers, innovators and future leaders determined to transform ideas into action. The Gujarat Rising Chhatra Sansad Conclave was not merely an event—it was a declaration that the state’s youth are ready to lead Gujarat’s rise and contribute to India’s emergence as a global powerhouse.
