The Gujarat State Football Association (GSFA) is all set to kick off the third season of the Gujarat Super League (GSL) on September 1, 2026, at the TransStadia Arena, Ahmedabad at 4 p.m. This marks another significant step forward in the State’s endeavour to create a stronger football ecosystem across Gujarat. The trophy and team jersey were unveiled by Pradipsinh Vaghela, Vice President of GSFA, in presence of the office-bearers of GSFA and team owners of GSL. Two U-20 players from the GSL will be selected for trials for Tier-3 and Tier-4 domestic football leagues in Germany. Prof. Jan Mayer, sports psychologist from Germany and Bosch Technology will use Sports Intelligence for selection of the players for trials in Germany. Ex-gratia payment of Rs. 2 lakh to young footballer Rahul Bhatia, who received serious injuries, was also announced at the event.
Following the encouraging response to the first two seasons, GSL Season 3 promises to be more competitive and engaging, bringing together Gujarat’s footballing talent and providing players with a high-quality platform to showcase their skills.
Speaking ahead of the launch, GSFA President Parimal Nathwani said that the third season of the GSL represents another important milestone in Gujarat’s football journey. “The GSL is not merely a competition; it is an important part of our larger vision for the development of football in Gujarat. Our objective is to provide talented players with opportunities, encourage greater participation and create a culture in which football becomes a sport of choice for the youth of the State,” he added.
In a significant initiative aimed at bringing the league closer to football fans, GSFA also launched a dedicated app, designed to provide easy and convenient access to the GSL as well as the activities of the GSFA. The app is envisaged as a one-stop digital platform for Gujarat football, enabling fans to stay updated with GSL fixtures, match schedules, results, team information, player profiles, league developments, photographs and other important updates.
Nathwani said the launch of the new digital platform would further enhance the connection between the league and its supporters. “We want GSL to be accessible not only inside the stadium but also on the phones and digital devices of every football enthusiast. The new app is an important step in that direction. It will bring the league, its players, teams, fixtures and GSFA activities closer to the people,” he said.
The GSFA’s Hon. Secretary Mulrajsinh Chudasma who presented the salient aspects of the app on a large screen said that the platform will also provide information about the various initiatives and activities undertaken by GSFA, thereby strengthening engagement between the Association, players and the football-loving public of Gujarat.
The occasion also witnessed the unveiling of the official GSL Season 3 jerseys and trophies, symbolising the identity, competitive spirit and aspirations of the league. The jerseys have been designed to reflect the energy and contemporary character of Gujarat football, while the trophies will represent the ultimate prize that the participating teams will compete for during the season.
The unveiling is expected to add to the excitement surrounding the commencement of the new season and further strengthen the GSL’s identity as one of Gujarat’s flagship football competitions.
The GSFA also announced the complete fixtures for GSL Season 3, giving football fans an opportunity to plan their participation and support their favourite teams throughout the tournament. With an exciting line-up of matches scheduled at TransStadia, Ahmedabad, the league is expected to provide football enthusiasts with an opportunity to witness competitive football in a professional stadium environment.
The detailed fixtures, including dates, teams and match timings, will be made available through the newly launched GSL digital platform and GSFA’s official communication channels.
The opening of the third season of the GSL will be marked by a special ceremony at TransStadia, Ahmedabad, bringing together football players, officials, coaches, supporters, sports personalities and other stakeholders. The GSFA invites football fans, supporters, players, sports enthusiasts and the people of Gujarat to join the celebrations and make GSL Season 3 a memorable chapter in the State’s football journey.
