1. Air Vice Marshal Shakti Sharma creates history
Air Vice Marshal Shakti Sharma has become the first woman officer from the non-medical branch of India’s armed forces to attain the rank of Air Vice Marshal. She has taken charge as Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Education).

2. India sends fifth aircraft with relief to flood-hit Nepal
India has stepped up its humanitarian assistance to Nepal, sending a fifth aircraft carrying relief and rescue material, including an 11-member specialist rescue team and 5.5 tonnes of essential medicines.

3. 163 Indians rescued from flood-hit Nepal
The MEA said 163 Indians have been rescued from areas affected by the devastating floods in Nepal, as rescue operations continue. Indian teams are also assisting in specialised tunnel-rescue operations.

4. Supreme Court clears way for withdrawal of cases against student protesters
The Centre told the Supreme Court it would not pursue criminal cases filed against students over the July 20 protests. The development has led to the planned September 5 march being called off.

10. ED searches 14 premises in NHAI toll-fraud case

1. US-Iran conflict sees major escalation

Egypt strongly condemned Iranian missile and drone attacks targeting Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan, warning that the escalation threatens regional stability and international navigation.

5. At least 22 killed in Egypt bus crash
A passenger bus crash in Egypt’s South Sinai has killed at least 22 people, according to authorities, making it one of the day’s major international tragedies.
