IAF EDI+IONS Ahmedabad Brings Art, Design and Architecture Together

India Art Fair has brought the second edition of IAF EDI+IONS to Ahmedabad, following the successful launch of the initiative in Hyderabad last year.

The showcase opened yesterday at the century-old Baronet House (Sanjay MS Raval Skill Centre) in Shahibaug, transforming the historic Indo-Gothic landmark into a platform for contemporary art and cultural exchange. The event will continue through September 20.

The Ahmedabad edition features 18 leading galleries, including five from Ahmedabad, along with two design participants and one institution. The initiative is aimed at expanding India Art Fair’s regional presence while strengthening art ecosystems across South Asia.

Connecting Ahmedabad’s Creative Legacy

Meha Patel, Vice Chairperson of the Zydus Foundation and an art connoisseur, said the event provides an opportunity to showcase Ahmedabad’s established creative traditions to a wider audience.

She highlighted the city’s textile heritage, design traditions and architectural legacy, adding that the initiative could provide greater visibility, market access and opportunities for local artists, artisans and craftspeople.

Jaya Asokan, Fair Director, India Art Fair, said the Ahmedabad edition builds on the encouraging response to the first edition in Hyderabad. She said EDI+IONS is designed to reflect the cultural character of each city while bringing people together around art and culture and creating opportunities for regional exchange beyond the annual Delhi fair.

Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO, BMW Group India, said the company was pleased to continue its partnership with India Art Fair as the Presenting Partner of IAF EDI+IONS Ahmedabad. He described Ahmedabad as a fitting setting for the initiative, citing its artistic and architectural heritage, craftsmanship and culture of innovation.
