Chhattisgarh Tourism organised a roadshow in Ahmedabad on October 30, in partnership with FICCI, to showcase the state’s diverse tourism offerings and explore opportunities for greater collaboration with Gujarat’s travel and tourism industry.
The roadshow highlighted Chhattisgarh’s rich natural landscapes, cultural heritage, wildlife, eco-tourism opportunities and emerging travel destinations. It also provided a platform for interaction between tourism officials, travel agents, tour operators and other industry stakeholders to promote the state as an attractive domestic tourism destination.
Known for its dense forests, spectacular waterfalls, ancient temples, archaeological sites and vibrant tribal traditions, Chhattisgarh offers a wide range of experiences for travellers. Destinations such as Bastar and Chitrakote, along with limestone caves, trekking trails, wildlife reserves, handicrafts and village homestays, present opportunities for nature-based, adventure, spiritual and experiential tourism.
Neelu Sharma, Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, said the state’s natural landscapes, biodiversity and cultural traditions offer distinctive experiences for visitors. He encouraged travellers and tour operators to explore its diverse destinations and help bring Chhattisgarh’s tourism potential to a wider audience.
Dr. S. Bharathi Dasan (IAS), Secretary, Tourism Department, Government of Chhattisgarh, highlighted the state’s varied attractions, ranging from deciduous forests and waterfalls to ancient temples, heritage sites and traditional handicrafts. He emphasised the importance of strengthening partnerships with the travel trade to attract more visitors.
Saumil Ranjan Chaubey (IAS), Managing Director, Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, said the roadshow would help connect the state with travel professionals, create new business opportunities and introduce emerging destinations to a wider domestic audience.
Jaspreet Singh Bhatia, Chair, FICCI Chhattisgarh Tourism Committee and President, Chhattisgarh Travel Trade Association, highlighted the role of industry collaboration in increasing destination awareness and encouraging travel agents to include Chhattisgarh in their domestic tourism itineraries.
The initiative seeks to familiarise Gujarat’s travel trade with Chhattisgarh’s tourism potential, encourage the development of customised travel packages and facilitate new partnerships between tourism stakeholders.
Through such industry engagements, Chhattisgarh Tourism aims to strengthen its presence in the domestic tourism market and attract travellers interested in discovering India’s lesser-explored natural, cultural and heritage destinations.
