GTU’s First Foundry Skill Batch Receives Monthly Stipend of ₹18,000

Ahmedabad, July 03: Gujarat Technological University (GTU), in collaboration with its Innovation and Technology Research (ITR) centre, launched its first-ever stipend-based Foundry Skill Course focused on melting and casting. For the first time, selected students received a monthly stipend of ₹18,000.

The inaugural batch comprised eight students, who will receive the stipend for four months during the hands-on training. Throughout the course, participants successfully reclaimed four tonnes of metal and six tonnes of sand, gaining practical exposure to industrial processes.

The send-off ceremony for the batch was graced by U. Oshida, Director General of JEletro, as the chief guest. The event saw the presence of GTU Vice Chancellor Dr. Rajul Gajjar, Registrar Dr. K. N. Kher, along with Chira Vibhakar and Keyur Darji. Senior faculty members from AIA and technical staff from ITR were also in attendance.
This initiative marks a significant step in bridging the gap between academic learning and industry-oriented skills.
