Gandhinagar, July 10 : Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), a premier Institution of National Importance under the Ministry of Home Affairs, concluded an intellectually rich and dynamic training programme for Indian Foreign Service (IFS) Officer Trainees.

                     

Organized by the School of International Cooperation, Security and Strategic Languages (SICSSL), the programme aimed at equipping young diplomats with contemporary strategic knowledge and cross-disciplinary perspectives in global governance, diplomacy, and national security.

The programme featured distinguished speakers from India’s top strategic, defence, and academic institutions. Prof. Harsh V. Pant of Observer Research Foundation offered a compelling lecture on the evolving global order, while Lt Gen D.P. Pandey (Retd.) stressed integrated approaches to national power. A keynote by Lt Gen Sanjay Verma (Retd.) focused on India’s defence future and self-reliance goals under Atma Nirbhar Bharat.

Sessions on maritime strategy by Rear Admiral Monty Khanna (Retd.), high-tech geopolitics by Pranay Kotasthane, and sports diplomacy by Dr. Utsav Chaware brought diverse perspectives to the trainees. Technology-driven diplomacy was explored by  Aakanksha Saxena and  Harish Chowdhary, while Dr. Aparna Varma provided a deep dive into national security theories and strategic frameworks.

K Rajaraman, IAS, Chairperson of IFSCA, provided a global financial outlook by addressing India’s rising influence in the global economic order.

The Valedictory Session, led by RRU Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Bimal N. Patel, encapsulated key themes such as multilateralism, peaceful dispute resolution, and international law. His concluding address inspired trainees to uphold international cooperation and law-based diplomacy, underscoring India’s role on the world stage.

This training programme reaffirmed RRU’s commitment to shaping future-ready diplomats by blending strategic acumen with academic depth.
