Ahmedabad, September 12, 2025 – The city of Ahmedabad came together in a moving celebration of courage and sacrifice as “Veero Ko Suro Ki Salami” was hosted at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium. The soulful evening, filled with music and patriotism, paid homage to soldiers of Operation Sindoor and the Kargil War, while honouring 15 Veer Nari families and ex-servicemen.

The highlight of the event was the felicitation ceremony, where families of martyrs and veterans were presented with certificates of honour and cheques of ₹51,000 each. The solemn tribute evoked deep respect and gratitude among the audience, who rose in unison to salute the true heroes of the nation.

The evening was graced by Brigadier V. Radhakrishnan, a decorated veteran of Operation Vijay (Kargil 1999), as the Chief Guest. With over three decades of distinguished service in Air Defence formations and 13 years as a helicopter pilot, his presence lent gravitas and inspiration to the gathering.

Among other dignitaries present were. Amit Dongre, Chief Fire Officer of Ahmedabad Fire & Emergency Services, and Devang Dani, Standing Committee Chairman of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, both of whom were warmly received for their contributions to public service.

The gala was conceptualised and steered by Wing Commander Abhishek Tiwari, whose dedication added a special dimension to the event. Speaking on the occasion, he said, “The program was not just about remembrance, but about keeping alive the legacy of courage, sacrifice, and unity that defines India’s armed forces.”

The musical performances, infused with patriotic fervour, transformed the auditorium into a space of collective pride, gratitude, and emotional resonance. As the evening drew to a close, the hall echoed with applause and the powerful slogan: Jai Hind.
