World Science Day Marked with Enthusiasm at Gujarat Science City

The Gujarat Council of Science City celebrated World Science Day for Peace and Development with great enthusiasm, bringing together students, educators, and science enthusiasts for an inspiring day of learning and innovation.

Arjun Modhwadia, Minister for Science & Technology, Forests, Environment and Climate Change, Government of Gujarat, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Vimal Patel, Executive Director of Science City, was also present and motivated the audience with his address.

Minister Launches DIY STEM Kit and Quantum Science 2025 Booklet

The event began with the official launch of the DIY STEM Kit, designed for Class 9 students in alignment with their school curriculum, followed by the unveiling of the International Year of Quantum Science 2025 Booklet.

In his address, Modhwadia underscored the importance of World Science Day as a celebration of science’s role in fostering peace and development. He highlighted India’s and Gujarat’s growing contributions to global scientific progress and spoke engagingly about emerging fields such as Quantum Science and Artificial Intelligence.

Interactive Session Inspires Young Minds

During an interactive session, Modhwadia responded enthusiastically to science-related questions from students and teachers, offering simple, relatable explanations. He encouraged young learners to nurture a scientific temper and explore innovation, emphasizing Gujarat’s emergence as a leading hub for research, innovation, and science communication.

Campus Visit and Student Engagement

Before the main program, the Minister toured Science City’s key attractions — including the Aquatic Gallery and the Astronomy and Space Science Gallery — and lauded the institution’s exhibits, management, and scientific outreach efforts.

Concluding the event, Modhwadia interacted personally with students, appreciating their curiosity and passion for science, and urged them to contribute to the nation’s development through discovery and innovation.

Organized by the Gujarat Council of Science City, the celebration witnessed participation from over 500 students, teachers, and science enthusiasts, reflecting the growing public engagement with science and technology in the state.
