As part of the Ahmedabad Shopping Festival 2025, a vibrant fashion show celebrating indigenous craftsmanship was organised under the theme “Har Ghar Swadeshi, Ghar Ghar Swadeshi” by the Government of Gujarat and the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation.
Curated around the concept “Swadeshi with Global Appeal,” the fashion show aimed to seamlessly blend traditional Indian design sensibilities with contemporary global aesthetics. The event highlighted how indigenous fashion can resonate with modern, international tastes while staying rooted in India’s rich cultural heritage.
The ramp showcased a wide range of Swadeshi-inspired apparel, with each look thoughtfully crafted to represent India’s diverse handloom traditions and artisanal excellence. Designed with a focus on local designers, the collections reflected a harmonious fusion of heritage craftsmanship and modern silhouettes.
Adding glamour to the evening, Femina Miss India World 2024 Nikita Porwal and Femina Miss India 2024 First Runner-Up Rekha Pandey graced the event as special guests. Their exclusive show-stopper walks, along with engaging model presentations, offered the audience a refreshing perspective on contemporary Swadeshi fashion.
The fashion show was organised with the objective of promoting indigenous textiles and apparel within the fashion industry, providing a platform for local designers, and encouraging young creative talent—reinforcing the growing relevance of Swadeshi fashion in today’s globalised world.
