‘Kem Chhe – Konnichiwa’: A Golden Jubilee Celebration of Indo-Japanese Harmony in Gujarat

Ahmedabad, July 11: The Indo-Japan Friendship Association of Gujarat (IJFA) has enjoyed unique recognition and goodwill over five decades, pioneering the Vision and Mission of making Gujarat the “Mini-Japan of India.” The Indo-Japan Friendship Association, Gujarat, proudly launched its Golden Jubilee Celebrations, marking 50 momentous years since its inception in 1975.

On this significant occasion, the distinguished Chief Guest His Excellency  Keiichi Ono, Ambassador of Japan to India joined the celebration accompanied by the Honorary Consul of Japan in Ahmedabad, Gujarat  Mukesh Patel; Dr. Savan Godiawala, President of AMA; and  Kyoko Hokugo, Minister Economic and Development, Embassy of Japan in India and released the “Japan Artopedia” which highlights “Timeless Arts Woven Together… Unfolding the Japanese Spirit!” and showcases various Japanese art forms including Literary Arts, Fine Arts, Performing Arts, and Martial Arts.

The celebration, theme “Kem Chhe – Konnichiwa,” offered unique cultural and culinary experiences from “The Land of the Rising Sun.” The Ceremonial Launch of the Golden Jubilee Celebration included a “Kampai” toast and the culinary experience “OISHII: Nippon no Swaad… Gujarati Andaaz ma!” featuring a seven-course Gujarati-Japanese Fusion Dinner. This unique initiative was inspired by the Honorary Consulate of Japan in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, and supported by the Hyatt Regency Ahmedabad.
