Perfect Iftaari Combo: Refreshing Fruit Chaat with Spicy Chicken Pakora

Fruit Chaat (Refreshing Iftaari Bowl)

Ingredients
  • 1 cup apples (chopped)

  • 1 cup bananas (sliced)

  • 1 cup papaya or mango cubes

  • ½ cup pomegranate seeds

  • 1–2 tbsp orange or lemon juice

  • 1 tsp chaat masala

  • Pinch of black salt

  • Mint leaves for garnish

Steps

  1. Combine all chopped fruits in a bowl.

  2. Add lemon/orange juice, chaat masala, and black salt.

  3. Mix gently so fruits don’t become mushy.

  4. Garnish with mint leaves and chill for 15–20 minutes before serving.

Tip: Add soaked raisins or dates for extra energy during fasting.

Chicken Pakora (Crispy Iftaari Snack)

Ingredients
  • 250 g boneless chicken (small pieces)

  • ½ cup gram flour (besan)

  • 2 tbsp rice flour (for crispiness)

  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste

  • ½ tsp turmeric

  • 1 tsp red chilli powder

  • 1 tsp garam masala

  • Salt to taste

  • Water as needed

  • Oil for deep frying

Steps

  1. Mix chicken with ginger-garlic paste, spices, salt, and flours.

  2. Add a little water to coat the chicken (thick batter).

  3. Heat oil and drop small coated chicken pieces.

  4. Fry until golden and crispy.

  5. Serve hot with mint chutney or ketchup.
