GTU Hosts Women in IP Dialogue Ahead of World IP Day

Gujarat Technological University (GTU), Ahmedabad, successfully co-hosted theĀ AIPLA Women in IP Law Global Networking Event 2026Ā on 17th April 2026 at the GTU Chandkheda Campus. The event, themedĀ āRooted in the Real ā Women in IP Redefining the Narrative,āĀ aimed to promote meaningful dialogue and networking among women professionals in the Intellectual Property (IP) ecosystem.

The program witnessed active participation from academicians, researchers, industry professionals, and students, creating a vibrant platform for exchange of ideas and experiences.
The initiative aligns with the vision of GTU leadership under the Vice Chancellor Dr. Rajul Gajjar and Registrar Dr. KN KherĀ , to strengthen innovation through intellectual property awareness and engagement. The encouragement extended byĀ Dr. Rajesh Thakker, In-charge, DPIIT-SPRIHA IPR ChairĀ , played a significant role in supporting such initiatives within the GTU IPR ecosystem. GTU’s IPR ecosystem is further strengthened through itsĀ GUJCOST-recognized Intellectual Property Facilitation Center (GTU VenturesāIPFC)Ā , which actively supports IP awareness, filing facilitation, and innovation-driven entrepreneurship across its academic network.
The highlight of the event was an engaging panel discussion moderated byĀ Dr. Kshipra Chauhan , Assistant Professor and In-charge, GTU-IPFC. The panel featured distinguished experts includingĀ Gopi TrivediĀ (Senior Partner, YJ Trivedi & Co.),Ā Dr. Gunjan Chawla AroraĀ (Assistant Professor, Nirma University),Ā Ms. Manisha Tiwari (Head, IP Litigation, Alembic Pharmaceuticals Ltd.) and Ā Pankti MistryĀ (Manager, Gujarat State Biotechnology Mission).
The discussion offered valuable insights into career growth, leadership pathways, and systemic challenges within the IP ecosystem, including sustaining women’s participation, evolving workplace structures, and strengthening access to innovation and impact. A rapid-fire segment added dynamic reflections on emerging opportunities for women in IP.
An interactive session with the audience further enriched the dialogue, making the event insightful and impactful. The program concluded with a networking session, fostering professional connections and collaboration.
The event reflects GTU’s continued commitment to building an inclusive, innovation-driven IP ecosystem and empowering women professionals through knowledge sharing and leadership platforms.
