The SRT10 Altevol Centre of Excellence Sports Academy in Ahmedabad turned into a hub of excitement and inspiration as cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar spent quality time with young athletes during a special visit to the academy on Monday.
Interacting closely with budding cricketers, parents, and coaches, Tendulkar joined children on the field for informal cricket sessions and motivational interactions, creating unforgettable memories for aspiring athletes training at the facility. His presence brought enthusiasm and encouragement to the young trainees, many of whom described the experience as a dream come true.
Addressing the gathering after the interaction, Tendulkar emphasised the importance of grassroots sports development and nurturing young talent through the right environment and opportunities.
“The most important thing for any young child is not where they begin, but whether they are given the opportunity to grow. India’s sporting future will depend on how strongly we invest in grassroots ecosystems and allow children to enjoy sport without fear or pressure. Sport teaches discipline, teamwork, resilience, and self-belief, and it was wonderful to witness the passion and energy among these young athletes in Ahmedabad,” Tendulkar said.
Located at Shankus Farm near Vaishnodevi Circle on SG Road, the SRT10 Altevol Sports Academy was launched earlier this year as part of the expanding SRT10 ecosystem focused on strengthening grassroots sports development through professional coaching, advanced fitness infrastructure, and holistic athlete training programmes.
The Ahmedabad facility is the second academy in India backed by Tendulkar after the flagship SRT10 Global Academy at DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai.
Chirag Patel, CEO of SRT10 Altevol Centre of Excellence, said the visit was a landmark moment for the academy and its trainees. “Sharing the field with Sachin Tendulkar gave young athletes a real sense of belief and motivation. His presence reflected the values our academy stands for — humility, discipline, hard work, and continuous improvement. The excitement and inspiration generated through this interaction will stay with these children for years to come,” Patel said.
The visit also highlighted Ahmedabad’s growing emergence as a strong sporting hub, with increasing access to structured coaching, mentorship, and world-class training infrastructure helping nurture the next generation of athletes.
