According to a press release issued by landowners Uttam Patel and Ramesh Patel, a lease agreement dispute involving Global Discovery School at Ampad near Sevasi has raised concerns about the future of more than 200 students studying at the CBSE-affiliated institution. The release states that the school’s management has not complied with an arbitration award directing it to vacate the premises and clear outstanding dues. The school’s response to these allegations was not available at the time of publication.

As per the press release, an Arbitration Centre had directed the trust operating the school to vacate the premises by May 31, 2026, and hand over possession to the landowners. The award also reportedly directed the trust to pay outstanding rent amounting to over Rs 3.68 crore, along with 9 per cent annual interest.

The landowners have alleged that the trust failed to make rent payments as stipulated under the lease agreement and did not respond to legal notices issued in connection with the dispute. The matter subsequently went to arbitration following proceedings initiated through the High Court, the release claims.

According to the release, the arbitrator ruled in favour of the landowners in October 2025 after examining submissions and documents presented by both parties. The trust was allegedly granted time until May 31, 2026, to vacate the property and settle the outstanding amount within 60 days of the award.

The landowners further claim that despite the passage of several months since the arbitration order, neither possession of the premises has been handed over nor has the outstanding amount been paid.

The press release states that more than 200 students from pre-primary to Class 10 are enrolled in the school and alleges that parents have not been informed about the arbitration award. The landowners say they have submitted representations to the District Education Officer, District Collector and the State Education Minister, seeking intervention to safeguard the interests of students and prospective admissions.
