Sardardham will provide ₹5 crore in higher education assistance to 1,150 meritorious and economically needy students for the academic year 2026-27 under the **Dr. Chitranjanbhai Patel (USA) Higher Education Assistance Scheme).

The assistance is aimed at enabling deserving students to pursue higher education without financial constraints and is being extended to students from different communities and sections of Gujarat.

The announcement was made at a press meet ahead of the Higher Education Assistance Cheque Distribution Programme, held at Sardardham, Ahmedabad, on Saturday. T G Jhalavadiya, Hon Secretary, Chairman CA B K Patel and Gagji Sutaria addressed the press meet and outlined the organisation’s efforts in the field of education and social development.

Under the scheme, 1,150 students will receive assistance based on their academic merit and educational requirements. The beneficiaries include 205 students pursuing Medical courses, 661 in Engineering, IIT and Architecture, 29 in Pharmacy, 31 in other Science streams and 224 students pursuing BCA and other General courses.

Addressing the press meet, T G Jhalavadiya said the objective of the initiative was to ensure that financial difficulties did not prevent deserving students from pursuing higher education.

“Merit should never be stopped by lack of financial resources. Through this initiative, our effort is to ensure that deserving students get the support and encouragement they need to continue their higher education and build a better future.”

Chairman CA B K Patel said investment in education was ultimately an investment in society and the country’s future.

“When we support a student’s education, we are not merely providing financial assistance; we are strengthening the foundation of the next generation. Every student who receives this support can become a contributor to society and the nation.”

Gagji Sutaria highlighted the inclusive character of the initiative and the importance of collective participation in supporting education.

“Education has the power to create opportunity and bring communities together. Our objective is to reach students who have the merit and determination to study but need financial support to move ahead.”

The initiative has received support from donors and organisations including Chimanbhai J. Agrawal, K. R. Shroff Foundation, AIA CSR Foundation, Meghmani Family and Poonamchandbhai Patel, among others.

At the cheque distribution programme, students and their parents attended the event, with the 1,150 selected students receiving education assistance cheques from the total ₹5 crore fund, with the amount for individual students determined on the basis of merit.

Sardardham said the scheme is intended not only to provide immediate financial assistance but also to encourage students to pursue professional and higher education and contribute meaningfully to society.

The initiative reflects Sardardham’s broader focus on education, social upliftment and creating opportunities for economically needy and meritorious students across Gujarat.
