271 Persons with Disabilities to Receive 291 Artificial Limbs at Ahmedabad Camp
87 Callipers to be provided to 64 beneficiaries; prosthetic limbs developed using Japanese-German technology

As many as 271 persons with disabilities will receive 291 Narayan Modular Artificial Limbs at a special prosthetic limb fitting camp to be organised by Narayan Seva Sansthan, Udaipur, in association with its CSR partner Ingersoll Rand, in Ahmedabad on September 6.
The camp will be held at Atal Kalam Campus Lane, Gujarat University, Navrangpura, from 8 am to 6 pm, with the formal inauguration scheduled for 11 am. In addition to the artificial limbs, 87 callipers will be provided free of cost to 64 beneficiaries.
Prosthetic limbs using modern technology
The artificial limbs, developed using Japanese-German technology, will be fitted by a team of experts. The beneficiaries were identified during a free Narayan Limb Measurement Camp held in Ahmedabad on July 26.
Following the fitting, beneficiaries will also receive training in walking, maintaining balance and using the prosthetic limbs comfortably.
Narayan Seva Sansthan’s Media and Public Relations Head Bhagwan Prasad Gaur said the Narayan Modular Limbs are lightweight, convenient and can be adjusted to meet individual requirements.
“Our objective is not merely to provide prosthetic limbs, but to help persons with disabilities move towards an independent and dignified life.”
Focus on confidence and independence
Gaur said the Sansthan has been organising similar camps across different parts of the country to help reduce the physical challenges faced by persons with disabilities due to accidents, illness or congenital disabilities.
He added that the Ahmedabad camp, being organised under the guidance of Sansthan President Prashant Agarwal, is part of the organisation’s continuing effort to make technologically advanced prosthetic limbs accessible to those in need.
“With the support of CSR partners, philanthropists and donors, the Sansthan is working to enable more people with disabilities to lead independent lives,” Gaur said.
Free facilities for beneficiaries and families
Ahmedabad Ashram In-charge Kailash Chaudhary said arrangements have also been made for beneficiaries and their accompanying family members, including free food, seating and first-aid facilities. Satish Baviskar, senior Sansthan member briefed the media on Thursday in AHmedabad.
“Prosthetic limb fitting is not limited to restoring mobility; it is also an important step towards rebuilding an individual’s confidence, self-esteem and independence.”
Over 40,200 people have received free prosthetic limbs
Narayan Seva Sansthan has been engaged in social service since 1985. According to the organisation, more than 40,200 persons with disabilities have so far received prosthetic limbs free of cost, while over 4.54 lakh persons with disabilities have received free medical treatment in India and abroad.
The organisation was founded by Padma Shri Kailash ‘Manav’, who was honoured with the Padma Shri by the President of India for his contribution to social service. Sansthan President Prashant Agarwal received the President’s Award in 2023 for his contribution to the empowerment of persons with disabilities.
Guided by its philosophy of “Nara Seva Hi Narayan Seva” — service to humanity is service to the divine, the Ahmedabad camp aims to help beneficiaries move towards greater confidence, dignity and self-reliance.
Narayan Seva Sansthan, in association with Ingersoll Rand, will provide 291 artificial limbs to 271 persons with disabilities and 87 callipers to 64 beneficiaries at a free prosthetic limb fitting camp in Ahmedabad on September 6. The Japanese-German technology-based limbs will be fitted by experts, with beneficiaries also receiving mobility and balance training.
