815 Students Receive Degrees at GSFC University Convocation; Girls Win 12 of 17 Gold Medals

A total of 815 students received their degrees at the 8th Convocation Ceremony of GSFC University, held at Fertilizernagar, Vadodara, with female students securing 12 of the 17 Gold Medals awarded at the ceremony.

The graduating batch comprised 488 male and 327 female students from the School of Technology, School of Science, and School of Management and Entrepreneurship.

Padma Bhushan Dr V. K. Saraswat, former Director General of DRDO and former Member of NITI Aayog, was the Chief Guest at the convocation. He conferred Gold Medals on 17 students and Silver Medals on 15 students. The degrees were conferred by P. K. Taneja, IAS (Retd.), President, GSFC University.

The ceremony was attended by members of the University’s Governing Body and Board of Management, government officials, senior officials of GSFC Limited and GSFC University, industry leaders, faculty and non-teaching staff, graduating students and their parents.

Vice Chancellor Professor G. R. Sinha presented the University Report, outlining the institution’s academic growth, achievements, research initiatives, industry engagement, student development and other key milestones during the academic year.

Addressing the graduating students, P. K. Taneja congratulated the 815 graduates, including the Gold and Silver Medallists, and acknowledged the contribution of parents, faculty members and mentors. He said the convocation marked both the culmination of years of hard work and the beginning of a new journey of opportunities, aspirations and responsibilities.

Taneja highlighted GSFC University’s growth over the past 11 years, noting that the institution has expanded from two academic programmes to a multidisciplinary university offering 26 programmes to more than 3,400 students.

He reiterated the University’s focus on its three strategic pillars — Industry-Aligned, Technology-Driven and Future-Ready — supported by industry collaborations, experiential learning, research and innovation. He also highlighted the University’s 100% placement achievement in B.Tech Chemical Engineering, B.Tech Fire & EHS and M.Sc Chemistry.

Looking ahead, Taneja said the University’s priority would be to further strengthen the quality of teaching, research and student development. He urged the graduates to remain future-ready and become proud ambassadors of GSFC University.

In his convocation address, Dr V. K. Saraswat congratulated the graduates, medal winners, parents and faculty members. Appreciating the University’s emphasis on experiential learning and industry engagement, he highlighted the role of universities in preparing young people to contribute to India’s journey towards Viksit Bharat @ 2047 through technology, innovation and self-reliance.

Saraswat also emphasised the importance of research, industry-oriented education and specialised learning facilities. Addressing the graduates, he urged them to continuously learn, adapt and innovate in a rapidly changing technological environment.

He stressed the importance of scientific temperament, digital skills, critical thinking, collaboration, resilience, integrity and character, and encouraged the graduates to convert their knowledge into meaningful solutions and contribute to society and nation-building.

The convocation marked the completion of the students’ formal education at GSFC University and the beginning of their professional and personal journeys. The graduates are expected to pursue diverse pathways in industry, higher education, research, entrepreneurship and other professional fields.

The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Manish Pradhan, Registrar, GSFC University, who expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, dignitaries, university leadership, faculty and non-teaching staff, parents and graduating students for their contribution to the successful conduct of the 8th Convocation Ceremony.
