GIFT City Rises in Global Rankings, Leads in Reputation & Fintech

Gandhinagar , March 26 : Gujarat International Finance Tech City (GIFT City), India’s first operational smart city and first international financial services centre, has further strengthened its position as a growing global financial hub and has achieved significant improvements in various categories in the latest edition of the Global Financial Centres Index (GFCI 37). GIFT City has topped the list in Reputational Advantage and has moved up from 45th to 40th position in the FinTech ranking , indicating a significant advancement in its position as a premier international financial centre. In addition , it has maintained its position among the top 15 financial centres in the Asia-Pacific region.

GIFT City’s strong performance in the GFCI 37 rankings reflects its growing reputation , investor confidence and its role in driving financial innovation. The improvement in the FinTech ranking reflects its emergence as an emerging hub for financial technology, while its leading position in Reputational Advantage represents its growing reputation worldwide for its business-friendly ecosystem , strong regulatory framework and world-class infrastructure.

The Global Financial Centres Index ( GFCI ), compiled by Z/Yen Group , assesses financial hubs around the world based on 140 instrumental factors provided by third-party organizations such as the World Bank , the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development ( OECD), and the United Nations. These factors evaluate financial centres on a range of dimensions including business environment , infrastructure , human capital , financial sector development, and overall competitiveness.

The GFCI 37 report assessed 133 financial centres across the world, with 119 making it to the main index. The report highlights the steady emergence of emerging financial hubs, with GIFT City continuing to reassert its ambition as a global financial destination of choice.
